Second time around

Somethings are easier and somethings are harder the second time around having a newborn.

Easier is listening to them cry. Harder is when the 3-year old is whining because you've already listening to baby cries.
Easier is knowing what to expect with their eat, wake, sleep cycles. Harder is working those cycles around the older one's activities.
Easier is bathing the baby without feeling like you are going to drop him. Harder is finding something for the older one to do while bathing the newborn.
Easier is nursing the second time around. Harder is looking at your husband lying in bed as you get up in the middle of the night and know you have no guarantee of getting a nap.
Easier is handing things off to your husband on the weekend so you can take a nap. Harder is being cheerful at breakfast with the older one when you are sleep deprived.
Easier is being motivated to do the babybook because I know if I don't do it now, it won't get done. Harder is finding the time to do the babybook.
Easy is looking at the 3-year old holding the little baby and smiling because they are yours. Hard is letting the 3-year old share bites of whatever you are eating because it's one of the few things you are doing just for yourself.
Easy is leaving the kids with a babysitter for a much-needed date night. Harder is paying the babysitter enough for watching your 2 kids that she is willing to come back again.Swank Kids
