Okay. Here it is. You've been waiting for the first day of school blog. Surprisingly, there were not any tears shed or long good byes. For any of us. Makaila let me take my pictures. She was glad to be walked to class. But she was also glad her new little friend Abby was arriving at the same time and they were going to be able to sit next to each other at a table that morning. Chad and I grabbed some Starbucks in a weird state of awe now that we are parents of a Kindergartener. We already have an upcoming PTA meeting and forms to fill out.Makaila's first response of her favorite thing was lunch. But she didn't have enough time to eat all of hers. My kids aren't usually the speediest kids when it comes to breakfast or lunch, so she will have to improve her pace at school. She also had fun in music, at recess and with the books they read.
She has learned to tie her shoes in the last 2 weeks in preporation for wearing tie shoes. Chad actually double knotted hers today, but she was proud to be able to re-tie her friend's shoes when they came untied.
She seems quite excited from her day when I picked her up. Her and Cole enjoyed the ice cream cone treat I got them along with a necterine and pretzels. They played and played this afternoon so that was fun. Tonight around 7 we saw a little of the signs of a long day. One day down, 179 more to go!
