Open House

Tonight was open house at Makaila's school. She got a chance to show off her artwork, her writing and her class to us all. But it was extra special having Grammy and Grandpa to bring her lunch today and to come to her open house.

Grammy and Grandpa T's spring visit

Grammy and Grandpa came to visit over Grammy's spring break. They are spending lots of time spoiling the kids. And the kids love it. Cole keeps looking to Grandpa's bag to see what the surprise is of the day.

Makaila had a soccer game that Grammy and Grandpa got to come see. The HT's tied 2-2. The girls had so many shots on goal, when they finally scored their second goal the parents on our side went crazy. Makaila finally got the soccer outfit for Sarah and she was sure to have her come to the game too.

Cousins - watch us grow!

We took the "red couch" picture when we first met cousin Ryan. We try to remember to take one whenever we are together and remember. Now we've added baby Kara. Look how big the kids look in the last picture!

Egg Hunt

We took the boys for an Egg Hunt at church. Chad and Keith brought the girls to have lunch and enjoy a great weather day at the playground.

Pump it Up

We had plans for an outing to ride on the train, play at a playground and have a picnic in a park. But just as we started to leave, the clouds and light rain came. So, last minute we decided to to go to Pump It Up instead. Here's some pics from the fun. Makaila and Kate made a new friend you see. Here's Uncle Keith counting the minutes until he can ditch the crutches and boot.

Introducing. . . Kara

And here she is! This is Kara, my newest niece. She is 5 months old today. As a third child, she goes with the flow like the best of them. Here she is trying on Daddy's walking boot, practicing sitting and watching us enjoy Paradise Bakery. Rachelle says she has a strong will when every they've tried to have her "cry it out", but I've hardly heard her cry. She gives lots of smiles and doesn't like to get too far away from her mother.

American Girl Store

We planned a girls' day to the American Girl store. The day had both good and bad to it. The girls were thrilled to have a matching outfit to wear. We got there and the store was packed. There was an author doing a book signing as well as being spring break.
We immediately started looking for the soccer outfit that had been sold out a month ago. We were told to expect it back in the store between 3/12-3/14. The day we went was 3/15. Turns out it was sold out the day before. Makaila wasn't too happy about it. She didn't cry, she was just concerned about if she could get something. She and Kate both bought a t-shirt for their doll. We each bought them a matching shirt for themselves. Here they are sporting their new outfits.

Our next plan after shopping was to go to the Bistro for a milkshake or smoothie. We attempted to get a table and were told it was reservations only. Kate, who was having a difficult time deciding if the $8 she spent was a wise way to spend her money, really lost it when we couldn't eat at the Bistro and use the cute little high chair boosters for their dolls. So, we ended up going to Paradise Bakery for cookies and chocolate milk and used their baby boosters for their dolls.

Oh, and we ordered the soccer outfit on line!

Cousins

The AZ cousins came out to TX to visit. There has been lots of time playing in pj's. The boys are quite enjoying being superheros, fire figthers, knights and pirates all around the house. The girls are enjoying matching and being "twins" whenever they can. The are having a great time changing their doll's clothes for day or night, feeding their dolls, putting their dolls to bed, doing their dolls' hair, etc.

Say cheese

My son and his friend were having a playdate. They came across my camera and his friend decided to take his picture. This is him posing for the camera.

Bumps

Whenever we hit a bump while driving Cole likes to say, "Mommy, you hopped me up."

zoo day

Life is good when you aren't expecting much and you get a fun day in return. Chad went out of town for another conference after being gone last week for 5 days. This past Saturday we only had the soccer game so I was thinking it would be a LONG weekend. But I found out my friend's husband was busy all Saturday so we decided to do something together. Since weather ended up being really nice we headed to the zoo. Weather was nice and the kids had a great time. Here are some pics of them and their friends.

Here's the one picture of my friend and I (taken by Makaila).

My friend is a member at the zoo. She has a really cool membership that includes monorail and carousel rides. I don't actually think Cole has ever ridden a carousel before. I think he expected it to go in a circle, but he may have been surprised that it went up and down. When it first started rising the look on his face was of pure joy. The first picture I took was too dark, but he was still enjoying it by the time I could get a good picture.

We ended our fun outing by stopping off for some ice cream. All had a good time, and unexpected great day.

Spring Soccer

We're back into soccer again. Same team, same coaches (Daddy and Coach C), and mostly the same players. We've had the first three games rained out, we haven't even got to practice much due to rain or cold weather. But this past Saturday we finally got to play. End result was a tie.

Reading Machine

Makaila is a reading machine lately! We have been using a reserve system at our library to try to keep up with her many different series she is reading. The Littles, American Girl books, Cam Jansen, Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew, Magic Treehouse, Rainbow Fairies, etc. As soon as we pick up books from the library, she can't even wait until we get home to start reading.

Starbucks

Yesterday was cold and rainy. We were driving to run and errand and we drove by a Starbucks. Makaila goes, "There's a Starbucks, Mommy I bet you're tempted." (as in tempted to stop and get one). I told her I would be, but I had already had one! She's got me down, doesn't she?
