strangely nice day

Some days God just gives you what you need. Yesterday I had to go for my annual exam. No woman ever enjoys that kind of thing. I didn't have to wait too terribly long (always a plus with a OB/GYN). The nurse started by complimenting my skin. This past month I have been dreading the nearing of my next birthday and thinking how this year I've really begun to just look older, so it was a great compliment. They talked me into being part of a study the doctor is doing so now I will get paid $40 for the visit I was doing anyways. The play date for my kids got cancelled so I had the opportunity to run an errand at the mall (since kids were with my wonderful husband). I got my ring cleaned, enjoyed a Starbucks and hit a few of the really great sales they were having. I got to go to stores that are NOT entertaining to my kids, infact they didn't even SELL kids' clothing there. And I even got to TRY ON clothes. I walked away with a few purchases (on sale). Including travel time I was only gone from my family for 3 1/2 hours, but it was just what I needed to have a great day. To quote my sister-in-law, "that's the best OB/GYN visit ever!".
